Rosie Ortega Ms. Lehmann English 1-3 15 March 2019 Response to As You Like It The play As You Like It, written my William Shakespeare, was cool to watch because of how the actors and actresses performed it. How the play was written was also interesting. I like how they decided to use 80’s theme as well. The acting was interesting to watch because theactors and actresses have such amazing acting skills. My least favorite part of their acting was that none of the fighting scenes were real; they were all fake. It would have been more interesting if the stage stunts were real. My favorite part of their acting was when Rosalind and Orlando kiss at the end because at least out of all the acting, that was real. The costumes were okay. They all dressed up to make themselves not be their characters. The things they wore werethings I would never wear in my life. The play was written long before the 80’s were even a thing. The music that they used was more rock and roll and love songs from the 80’s. That wasmusic that I’ve heard, so I was okay with that. The music made it interesting to watch and to listen to. The 80’s theme fit right into the play. It’s something that people today have seen or gone through before. If it was the 1600’s, then the play would have not been fun or interesting at all; it would’ve been boring. My overall opinion of the play was that it was very relaxing to watch. As if you were weren’t tired but you also were not standing up and exciting to where everyone was standing up and clapping. I liked it, even though the play was old, they found a way to make it more fun. I like the story behind it, especially at the end. I love the way the actress of Rosalind did an amazing job. This play makes me look forward about next years’ play.
Student's Choice Semester I & II Reflection Questions Answer all questions with complete, grammatically correct sentences. Be specific and thoroughly address each question.
List one thing you've learned from writing this paper that you have applied to other writing assignments. I have to apply more explanation with everything I write into all of my papers.
Identify a challenge you faced while writing this paper (this can be at any stage of the writing process). How did you overcome the challenge? What did you learn? I had a hard time of writing this paper when I had to talk about the costumes. I tried my hardest to be able to get information from other people's opinions about the character's costumes. I learned that I didn't really have a positive outcome about the costumes but they were okay.
What genre does this paper fit? How do you know? This paper fits into the expository genre because I explained my opinion about the play.
Given more time to work on this paper, how would you improve it? I would improve it by adding more explanation to my paragraphs because some of my explanations are short.
Why did you choose to include this paper? What do you want me to learn about you as a writer? I could write forever if I could. This particular paper was about the play so I had to watch it in order to so this paper. For an assignment, we had to write this paper.
